Services of Burge Wedding Director
(Included in Rental Fee at Burge Plantation)

During the Event Planning process, we will:

  • Complete the initial tour of Burge Plantation to include ceremony site, pavilion (ceremony site for inclement weather), reception area, and two cabins for overnight usage
  • Review of wedding packet (includes rental guidelines, menus, and bar arrangements)
  • Be your main contact through appointments, phone calls, and emails for all Burge events: Rehearsal Dinners, Wedding Ceremonies and Receptions
  • Include up to 2 appointments to discuss and finalize the following:
    * Ceremony Direction
    * Menu Selection & Bar Arrangements
    * Outline details for Ceremony and Reception (tables, chairs, linens, rental of tents, lighting, staging, dance floor. etc)
    * Create floor plan for reception
    * Timeline of Wedding Day

One Week Prior to Wedding:

  • Any changes to ceremony or reception layout must be finalized
  • Final guest count and payment are due
  • A separate $500 security deposit check is due. This check will be held and returned one week after the wedding once Burge staff has checked for damages to property and/or cabins.
  • Burge will be pleased to store the following: alcohol, favors, additional rented linens, toasting glasses, cake knives, ceremony programs, cake topper (non-floral), additional decorations and centerpieces that are not fresh flowers. Burge cannot store any fresh flowers in our food coolers.

Day of Coordination, we will:

  • Assist vendors in delivery and set-up
  • Ensure ceremony and reception are properly set-up
  • Set in place ceremony programs, place cards, reserved table signs, guest book, toasting glasses, cake knives, guest favors, any additional linens, etc.
  • Organize ceremony processional (coordinate family, bridal party, and bride to music selections)
  • Orchestrate with your DJ or band the following:
    * Announcement of compete bridal party or bride/groom only
    * Start time for dinner (plates for the bride and groom will be served first)
    * First dances
    * Toasts
    * Cake cutting (any remaining cake will be packaged for family to take home)
    * Bouquet and garter toss
    * Departure


Additional Services Offered...
(Packages can be priced based on need)

  • Assist with vendor selection of the following through appointments, emails and phone calls:
    photographer, florist, baker, officiate, hair, makeup, music (DJ, band, live music for ceremony)
  • Assist with assembling of invitations
  • Assist in planning of the rehearsal dinner, guest list, caterer, etc.
  • Assist in planning of the bridal luncheon and bridesmaid’s gifts
  • Assist in planning of brunch on morning after wedding
  • Assist in planning of weekend activities
  • Arrange for lodging for your out of town guests at local hotels, inns, and bed & breakfasts
  • Assemble and deliver welcome bags for your guests
  • Recommend and arrange transportation for your guests and the bride & groom (i.e. limos, classic cars, shuttles, buses, etc.)
  • Make arrangements for any additional rental items (i.e. tent items, linens, event decorating items, etc.) and their return
  • Contract review of all vendors and distribution of vendor gratuities/payment.
